Its holdings currently comprise more than 18,500 pieces by some of the most fundamental creators of the history of art during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, such as Pablo Picasso, Max Beckmann, Louise Bourgeois, Anish Kapoor, Henry Moore, Edvard Munch, Andy Warhol, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Joan Mir\u00f3. It also features outstanding monographic sections by Hans Arp, Eduardo Chillida, Georg Baselitz, Max Bill, Max Ernst, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, and Anselm Kiefer. The collection has been topped off since 2003 with the &#8220;Old Masters&#8221; section, which brings together fundamental pieces of Central European medieval painting by artists such as Hans Holbein the Younger and Lucas Cranach the Elder.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pieces of this large collection rotate around 15 W\u00fcrth Museums located in Austria, Spain, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, and Germany \u2013 the most recent of which was inaugurated in the midst of the pandemic in K\u00fcnzelsau. In the case of Spain, the museum is located in Agoncillo, La Rioja and, in addition to exhibiting pieces from the general W\u00fcrth Collection, it also has its own W\u00fcrth Spain Collection which features pieces by the most significant artists of the second half of the twentieth century (Miquel Barcel\u00f3, Manolo Vald\u00e9s, Richard Deacon, Miquel Navarro, and Jaume Plensa) and by creators such as Tony Bevan, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Ballester, Tony Oursler, Ana Soler, David Rodr\u00edguez Caballero, Xavier Mascar\u00f3, and Blanca Mu\u00f1oz. What\u2019s more, the collection pays special attention to emerging and local artists, whose work also forms part thereof. In addition, there are site-specific pieces by Miquel Navarro, Richard Deacon, and Dario Urzay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Until February 19, 2023, the successful exhibition entitled &#8220;De la cabeza a los pies&#8221; (&#8220;From Head to Toe&#8221;) could be visited \u2013 an exhibition which reflects on the human figure by bringing together pieces by Magdalena Abakanowicz, Louise Bourgeois, Fernando Botero, Gilbert &amp; George, Gustav Klimt, Andy Warhol, and Jaume Plensa. After that, from the end of March 2023, the exhibition &#8220;M\u00e9nagerie,&#8221; previously shown in Germany and France, will be on display.
