At the beginning of the twentieth century, Eloy Muñoz began his apprenticeship as a watchmaker working for various firms in Navarre. In 1938, he opened his first store in the center of Pamplona and, despite the difficult times, the shop enjoyed great recognition. His children took over the business and, later, his grandson, Javier Echeverría, who has trained internationally at the workshops of the best master jewelers.
Javier moved the jewelry store to a more prestigious location, Roncesvalles Avenue, just in front of the Monument to the Running of the Bulls by the Basque sculptor Rafael Huerta, and in 2020 a second boutique was opened in the center of San Sebastián; thus, the company serves the entire Basque Country, Navarre, and the surrounding communities. Both shops are dedicated to selling watches from reputed firms for men and women, as well as exclusive jewelry that enhances the natural charm of the woman.
Regarding watchmaking, Echeverría represents the firms Breitling (it is the official dealer for the whole of northern Spain, with the exception of Catalonia and Galicia), Junghans, and Hamilton. Born in 1884, Breitling is, due to its close ties to the aviation sector, the favorite watch of countless pilots, aeronautical manufacturers, and airlines; in fact, it is the official timepiece for Swiss International Air Lines and is on board of all of said company’s flights. Featuring a completely different style, Junghans, founded in Germany in 1861, has designs created with a very special awareness and unique, artisan skill. Hamilton is a Swiss firm of American origin that was established in 1892. It became popular with the development of the American rail system, although it was soon linked to aviation, as it became the brand used by America’s first airmail service.
Jewels also need to be remarked: Echeverría represents the Italian firms Mirco Visconti, DoDo, and Chimento at its two establishments. The first of the aforementioned was founded in Valenza in 1947 and stands out for its striking combinations of diamonds with gems such as sapphires, aquamarines, and emeralds. DoDo, a pioneer of sustainable jewelry, is noteworthy because of its chic jewelry and its charms inspired by nature. Chimento got its start in the city of Vincenza in 1964, and 18-carat Italian gold is the main player in its pieces – in combination with high-quality diamonds. Echeverría also designs and manufactures jewelry by hand, and it sets itself apart by obtaining certified precious stones –especially diamonds– of the highest quality and purity at a good price. This is because it purchases the gems directly from the country of origin – a magnificent opportunity to get an exceptional piece.
