Of Hindu origin, OM is a mantra (or vibration) which is traditionally chanted at the beginning and end of yoga sessions. This sound, full of meaning and depth, together with the initial Y of Yoga, was the inspiration for the name OMY, which has been given to the leading yoga center of San Sebastián.
Located in the Antiguo District, just a few steps from Ondarreta Beach, OMY is a school that offers Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa classes to people of all ages – regardless of their physical condition and experience. Adapted to all levels, the Hatha classes are based on the Rishikesh series, and the Ashtanga Vinyasa classes, on its guided and self-practice (Mysore) modalities.
Every individual has different needs and evolves differently; therefore, it is important to adapt the practice to each student so that he or she can properly assimilate the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. To that end, the team at OMY is made up of instructors with years of experience who have trained with renowned national and international yoga experts.
The sessions are taught in a spacious and welcoming room full of natural light that has been specially designed to cover all the needs inherent to good and safe yoga practice. In addition to group classes, the school offers the possibility of private lessons in Spanish, Basque, English, German, and French. This provides a unique alternative for foreigners who wish to continue with their yoga practice during their holidays in the Basque Country.
