The Arima Hotel opens Foresta Wellness: San Sebastián’s new wellness space
At the beginning of this year, the long-awaited Foresta Wellness opened up in San Sebastián, a boutique Gym & Spa located inside the Arima Hotel. Foresta was the last space that remained to be opened in the hotel. In addition to Foresta, the hotel features 69 elegant rooms, a restaurant for fine dining, a bistro, event rooms, and an infinity pool on the rooftop terrace. With sustainability and innovation as the cornerstones of its philosophy, all of Arima’s facilities are energy efficient; in fact, Arima is the largest hotel in the world that is Passive House certified. This certification is awarded to buildings built with an increased amount of thermal insulation, rigorous air infiltration control, use of geothermal and aerothermal energy, and a high level of indoor air quality.
Ever faithful to the idea of caring for the environment (and the body), Foresta has come to be. It is a 700 m2 oasis designed for hotel guests and external clients. The spa area caters to body relaxation and it has a Finnish sauna, massage booths, and three heated swimming pools – one with a waterfall.
The space reserved for exercising the body has a gym with high-end machinery by Technogym where clients can do physical cardiovascular training and weight training. In addition to the room with exercise machines, there are another two rooms for personal training and indoor cycling, as well as a third multi-purpose room where yoga and Pilates sessions are offered, among other activities. All of this comes complete with a privileged view of the Miramón Forest, and direct access to the hiking trails and running tracks that cross this magnificent, 60-hectare wooded area.
Integration with nature and respect towards nature, as well as a healthy lifestyle, are all maxims that Foresta Wellness aims to promote.
