Some pieces of jewelry are bought. Others are passed down through generations. Perodri Joyeros has spent 65 years devoted to the latter. Before it became a jewelry house, Perodri was a workshop: a workbench in Bilbao producing pieces for jewelers throughout Spain, whose quality eventually made the name synonymous with fine craftsmanship. Today, that workshop remains active and continues to be the starting point for every creation bearing the Perodri name. Its master jewelers, stone setters, and polishers work there, accompanying each piece from the first sketch to the final polish. Inside the company, they call it the “Perodri touch”: a body of knowledge found in no manual, passed down from one person to another. A distinctive way of sketching, selecting each gemstone, setting it, and finishing each piece makes every creation unmistakably Perodri.
18-karat gold is the firm’s essential material. It is faceted, polished, or pierced to achieve the perfect balance between strength and delicacy. And in details that are barely visible, such as the curve of a prong or the inner finish of a ring band, the qualities that cannot be faked reveal themselves: the time and patience invested by expert hands.
Sixty-five years of craftsmanship have given Perodri a distinctive visual language. Salvaje, with its irregularly shaped faceted gold, is the brand’s signature collection. Juliette transforms the heart into an interwoven motif. Safari translates the wildlife of the savanna into organic openwork designs. Cubic plays with pure geometry, Anhelia with intricate compositions of colored gemstones, and Emperatriz presents sapphires, rubies, and emeralds framed by diamonds in their most sophisticated expression.
Every collection begins with the same exacting standards in working with materials. Of every 1,000 diamonds examined by the brand’s team of gemologists, barely 20 meet its standards for cut, color, and clarity. The same rigor guides the selection of every precious stone and colored gemstone, each chosen individually for the intensity of its hue.
To mark its anniversary, Perodri presents Una historia de historias (“A Story of Stories”), a collection of three pieces that reflect on the brand’s history through the people who have made it possible. It is rooted in a deeply personal understanding of the craft: every piece of jewelry is born twice. First, in the workshop, in the hands of the person who imagines it and the person who brings it to life. Then, when someone chooses it, gives it as a gift, or receives it, making it part of their life.
That is why every Perodri piece can be tailored to the person who will wear it: through an engraving, an adjustment to the design, or the selection of a gemstone with personal significance. In-house production makes this possible, bringing the distance between a desire and a finished piece down to the distance between the workbench and the storefront. Sixty-five years on, the essence remains unchanged: jewelry made in-house, designed to accompany a lifetime — and the generations to come.
