Heredad Beragu: Ten Years Toasting to Landscape, Flavor, and Silence
Ten years are but a heartbeat in the history of a medieval village like Gallipienzo Antiguo. And yet, in that brief time, Heredad Beragu has woven its own story — intimate, luminous, and capable of transforming the experience of all who have stayed there. The dream of Patxi and Ramón, its founders, was to restore life and purpose to this almost uninhabited corner of the world by creating an adults-only boutique hotel where the essentials would be listening, conversing, and sharing.
The project was born out of the restoration of four adjoining houses, transformed into a hotel with nine rooms, a living room with a fireplace, garden terraces, and a restaurant reserved for guests. More than a place, it is an atmosphere — welcoming, warm, and profoundly human. Here, sustainability is not a concept but a way of life: clean energy, an organic vegetable garden and chicken coop, and a local cuisine that honors the region with ingredients from nearby producers. Dishes that evoke Navarrese culinary memory, savored with the Kaparreta Nature Reserve as the backdrop.
And if cuisine is a language, wine makes it poetry. A few years ago, the paths of Patxi and Ramón crossed with those of Raquel and Iván, of Bodegas Caudalía winery, and from that friendship came Indusi — an elegant wine blending Garnacha, Syrah, and Cabernet that is served exclusively at the hotel. But the true result of the complicity between these two entrepreneurial couples is the Beragu Wine Experience: a singular experience, lovingly designed, which includes a private visit to Bodegas Caudalía with a tasting of its most distinguished creations, two nights at the hotel with breakfast included, a gastronomic welcome gift, and a four-course dinner paired with wines selected by the winemakers.
Today, as it marks its tenth anniversary, Heredad Beragu is celebrating much more than a milestone. It is celebrating shared time, hospitality turned passion, and the certainty that, in Gallipienzo Antiguo, every stay is a toast to life.
