Regarding prêt-à-porter fashion in the Basque Country, Galas has become a leader for both men and women who seek to stand out with garments from cutting-edge international brands. At their two boutiques, located in the center and in the Old Quarter of San Sebastián, Galas represents leading brands like Karl Lagerfeld, Pinko, and Kurt Geiger.
Founded in the 1980s by the king of fashion, the Karl Lagerfeld brand vindicates the legacy of its founder and maintains his essence, combining Parisian styles with a carefree, rock-chic look. The botique’s wide range of lifestyle collections includes pieces from the Rue St-Guillaume, Hotel Karl, Monogram, and Karl Ikonik lines – the latter line having a fun graphic feature that represents Lagerfeld dressed in his signature outfit: sunglasses, fingerless gloves, and a suit jacket. There is also a line of sustainable clothing and accessories which uses materials such as recycled leather, polyester from used PET bottles, recycled wool, nylon produced by recycling fishing nets, and cotton from post-consumer waste.
Pinko was also created in the 1980s –in this case by Pietro Negra and Cristina Rubini– as a response to the fashion demands of an independent, strong, and sexy woman aware of her femininity and determined to express herself through her apparel choices. Since its creation, photographers such as Terry Richardson, Steven Klein, and Xavi Gordo have taken pictures of models like Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, and Alessandra Ambrosio for Pinko, turning the brand into a globally recognizable icon.
The Kurt Geiger firm presents through its garments an inclusive and creative vision driven by kindness.
