Located in the Miramón Forest of San Sebastián, Foresta Wellness is an oasis specialized in body care and wellbeing. Situated inside the Arima Hotel and open to the public, the gym and ecological spa with an environmentalist philosophy have earned a place in the hearts of all those who respect and pamper their body and the environment with utmost care.
The space reserved for exercising the body has a gym with high-end machinery by Technogym where clients can do physical cardiovascular training and weight training. In addition to the room with exercise machines, there are another two rooms for personal training and indoor cycling, as well as a third multi-purpose room where yoga and Pilates sessions are offered, in addition to core fit, GAP, HIIT, tone, and fat burn activities. All of this comes complete with a privileged view of the Miramón Forest, and direct access to the hiking trails and running tracks that cross this magnificent, 60-hectare wooded area – they also organize outdoor group activities.
The water area features different hydrotherapy solutions: a pool of cold water at 23ºC (74ºF) to revitalize the body, relieve inflammation, and improve joint movement and blood and lymphatic circulation; a 33ºC (91ºF) hydrotherapy pool with swan neck jets and massage seats and loungers; and a 30ºC (86ºF) swimming pool where you can get your body moving with a low-impact sport like swimming. The establishment’s swimming pools do not use chlorine for disinfection, rather instant cleaning is performed with ultraviolet rays and bromine.
Foresta Wellness also has the first two infrared saunas in the Basque Country. These fabulous sources of radiant heat will help you to prepare your muscles before a massage and eliminate toxins.
Regarding treatments, Foresta Wellness works with the French fair trade and sustainable production brand Morjana Cosmetiques: magnificent aromas and textures based on natural, organic, and cold-pressed ingredients. The treatment menu includes massages (Californian, Swedish, Balinese & Thai Fusion, Foot Bath, and Craniofacial Shiatsu) and rituals (anti-aging and oxygenating treatments, exfoliation, massages with hot stones, buttocks, hip, and abdomen reducers and shapers, etc.).
This boutique gym and spa’s 700 m2 represent one of the fundamental pillars of Arima, the largest hotel in the world that is Passive House certified. This certification is awarded to buildings built with an increased amount of thermal insulation, rigorous air infiltration control, use of geothermal and aerothermal energy, and a high level of indoor air quality. A sustainable philosophy is present in the hotel’s 69 rooms, its restaurant, event halls, outdoor pool (located on the building’s rooftop), and –of course– at Foresta Wellness.
