The Montiel jewelry shop of Pamplona was inaugurated in 1963 by Gonzalo Fernández Montiel and his wife, Dory de Prado. For more than five decades, Montiel has been a champion of high quality and exclusivity, with its own collection and an enviable selection of watches and jewelry by renowned international brands.
Amongst the brands that they work with are the following: Buccellati, a world leader in fine jewelry since the beginning of the last century, whose pieces enjoy such prestige that they have been on display in major museums; Boucheron, the first jeweler to set up shop in the now mythical Place Vendôme of Paris; Vhernier, a Milan jeweler that draws its inspiration for its original collections from the shapes and colors of contemporary art; Pomellato, the Italian fine prêt-à-porter jewelry brand; the Japanese brand Mikimoto, the first to introduce pearls in fine jewelry; and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, known for its innovative designs that allow the customer to create and modify their jewelry to their taste. All of that is available in addition to the Montiel collection, exclusive pieces that are made and designed in house.
Watches are another of this establishment’s pillars. Montiel is the only licensed dealer in Navarre for the brands Patek Philippe, Omega, Hublot, Tag Heuer, Nomos, and Boucheron. Each firm they represent has its own history, and Montiel likes to make sure that the legacy of each one of them is known: Patek Philippe is the last independent manufacturer in Geneva that is controlled by a single family, committed to continuing with the traditional Genevan art of watchmaking; Omega was the brand chosen by the first astronauts for their missions on the Moon; the face of the Hublot watch, with its bull’s-eye window shape (“hublot” in French) and its one-of-a-kind strap in natural black rubber, is a worldwide icon of watchmaking; Tag Heuer is the avant-garde firm that invented watches with a crown; the exclusive Nomos Glashütte is one of the few manufacturers that still remains in the world; and the singer Edith Piaf, who left the entire world stunned with her song “La vie en rose,” used a Boucheron as a talisman.
Montiel offers its customers a luxury transport service to get them to the jewelry shop in BASQUE LUXURY TRAVEL SERVICE vehicles. This service can be hired with its starting point anywhere in the Basque Country. If the customer wishes, their purchase can be delivered to the hotel where they are staying.
Currently, it is Gonzalo, Óscar, and Miki –the founding couple’s sons– who are in charge of continuing to offer cutting-edge products of utmost quality.
