Coinciding with the latest edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, the maison Perrier-Jouët commissioned Casa Munoa jewelers to create a piece linked to its iconic champagne bottle inspired by the Belle Époque. Based on the floral style of the bottle, Casa Munoa created anemone-shaped earrings made of platinum and 18K yellow gold and decorated with two cabochon-cut emeralds and yellow brilliant-cut diamonds. The earrings were worn by actress Cayetana Guillén Cuervo during the opening ceremony of the festival.
Casa Munoa is a leader in Basque jewelry that has been in business since 1935. Claudio Munoa, a third-generation goldsmith, is who currently runs the business and designs all the pieces that are subsequently manufactured in the workshop, which is located inside the shop itself. Every generation of the family has added innovations that have kept the company at the forefront of the jeweling trade. That combination of experience, tradition, modernity, and a job well done yields pieces of good taste and maximum quality.
In addition to the shop’s collection of fine jewelry, customers (whether individuals or companies like Perrier-Jouët) may also order custom pieces with any design, metals, gemstones, and characteristics they desire – always with the advice and guidance of Claudio. Likewise, the shop also has a carefully selected range of antique and vintage jewelry in perfect condition, and they also repair and restore jewelry brought in by customers, updating it or creating new pieces so as to breathe fresh life into old jewels.
Those who visit San Sebastián should not leave the city without stopping by this emblematic boutique located in the Old Quarters – an establishment which Cayetana Guillén Cuervo describes with great affection as “a jewelry shop that I always keep in mind for the festival, and more so this year that I have the responsibility of hosting the event; these earrings represent the kind of style and sophistication that is characteristic not only of the festival but also of the city of San Sebastián itself.”
