All of this is possible thanks to BASQUE LUXURY HELICOPTER, the first tourist helicopter flight service in the Basque Country.
This initiative first took to the skies in 2021, with a Robinson 44 helicopter which can seat one pilot and three passengers. After the success achieved, in 2022 a new model was added, the Bell 206 Jet Ranger B3, which has a capacity for four passengers. This aircraft also has a greater range than the previous one (693 km) and can fly directly to any point in the north of Spain or Portugal, Andorra, or the south of France. This makes it possible to go on all kinds of outings in a single day, taking off from the Basque Country: visit a winery in Saint-Émilion, enjoy a seafood platter in A Coruña, visit the Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Cadaqués, or ski at Grandvalira.
The helitaxi service is also in high demand for rapid transfer to the Basque Country from main ports and airports like the Port of Barcelona and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas. Depending on the number of passengers and their luggage, Ecureuil AS350 and AgustaWestland AW109 helicopters are also used.
In terms of panoramic flights around the Basque Country, BASQUE LUXURY HELICOPTER offers three routes lasting 20, 35, and 55 minutes which can be customized to suit the client’s taste. Additionally, the culinary tours consist of a direct flight to a restaurant with a menu being enjoyed there. The Etxebarri and Laia roast houses and the Akelarre and El Puntido restaurants are some of these culinary destinations, as well as wineries such as K5, the txakoli winery that belongs to the Arguiñano family and which organizes guided tours of the vineyards and tasting events featuring their best wines – food and wine experiences that will have you loosening your belt.
