In the world of Barayazarra + Casteres, architecture and jewelry converse in a shared language: that of emotion shaped into form. From their studio in San Sebastián, each creation is conceived as an extension of the person who inspires it. Every project is born from an intimate story and crafted by hand, guided by the beauty of nature, architecture, and art in all its expressions.
Architects Ignacio Barayazarra and Charo Casteres, both graduates of the School of Architecture of San Sebastián, founded their studio with a purpose as ambitious as it is poetic: to transform the ephemeral into something eternal. A vision, a gesture, a design — each becomes a home, a jewel, or a timeless concept.
Their workspace mirrors that philosophy. On the ground floor, Ignacio surrounds himself with drawings, books, and digital tools that help him shape architectural ideals in which precision and sensitivity intersect. Above, Charo inhabits a more intimate workshop, a space filled with precious stones and natural finds that —alongside gold, silver, brass, and touches of enamel— are transformed into unique jewels. The pieces displayed in their shop window are not mere objects; they are material narratives meant to move and connect.
Beauty, respect, and intimacy are the values guiding every project. For Barayazarra + Casteres, design means going beyond the tangible — crossing the threshold of the physical realm to reach the emotional sphere. It is in that transition that the true meaning of their work emerges.
With more than three decades of shared creative experience behind them, Ignacio and Charo have built a career marked by aesthetic coherence and an unceasing capacity for reinvention. Architecture, interior design, jewelry — different disciplines that converge toward a single purpose: to show that good design not only beautifies but also brings wellbeing and happiness, from the architecture of an entire space to the intimacy of a small detail.
