After the success reaped in 2023 with the presentation of its first jewelry brand called Clara & Beth, the Atlantis boutique in San Sebastián has continued to nourish its collection with bracelets, wrist bands, chokers, necklaces, rings, and earrings that combine classic and bohemian styles. Its innovative jewelry concept –which integrates the beauty of nature and the sophistication of precious stones– far from following the standards of traditional jewelry, seeks to include beautiful stones with imperfections in their natural state, highlighting the intrinsic characteristics of the minerals themselves through faceting. Labradorite, jade, rhodonite, tiger’s eye, amethyst, and topaz are some of the minerals that Elisabeth Múgica and her daughter Clara Ortiz de Lanzagorta (the owners of Atlantis) use in their designs, which are uniquely marked with a blue sapphire – the boutique’s distinctive color.
The collection has a very versatile nature and the jewelry can be used both on a daily basis and on special occasions, although there are also some pieces –like the Mobile earring– which require a very special occasion (or a very strong personality). Their next challenge will be an ethnic-inspired collection, for which they will use hammered precious metals and petrified wood.
Apart from jewelry, Atlantis also offers a personalized bag and hat design service with the help of Gill Connon, a Scottish national who has made San Sebastián her home and who has extensive experience in the fashion and theatrical costume sectors.
The boutique has a wide selection of accessories and high-end bijou pieces from niche brands and large international firms. Among its latest additions are Barbieri scarves, Pascali gloves, and fine bijou pieces by Anton Heunis, offering a contemporary take on 1950s jewelry. Another important new feature is the addition of candles by Villa Hermanos and by Ladenac (which are unique because of the suggestive style of their candleholders, reminiscent of Fabergé Eggs). As for fine perfumes, they work exclusively with Berdoues, the mythical French maison founded in 1902 which sells just eight Grands Crus simultaneously.
In Addition, at Atlantis you will find hand-painted earrings by the brand Anna e Alex, silk ties for women and men by Leonard, ponchos by Missoni, high-end bijou pieces in ethnic style by Satellite, boho chic Italian jewels in brass with printed Washi paper, fans in pear tree wood and cotton fabric with designs by Bárbara Pan and Gastón y Daniela, silk kimonos by Italian firms, fantasy bijou pieces featuring mother of pearl and gold by Dominique Denaive, silk visors by Moschino, and accessories by Gas Bijoux, Brokante, Mantero, Pellini, and Christian Lacroix.
Atlantis also values local production, representing established artisans such as scarf designers Miriam Ocariz and Mirian Saizar, as well as the creators of Belle Époque style brooches at the Alas de Ángel fashion brand. This willingness to promote local craftsmanship without neglecting international brands has helped consolidate Atlantis’s reputation as a safe bet; and this in turn has stimulated the creativity of its owners when embarking on the exciting adventure of launching their own jewelry pieces.
