Before playing a single note, DJ and producer Alex del Toro listens. He listens to spaces, to glances, to the beat of a fleeting moment. Only then does he let the music speak — shaping the atmosphere, transforming the ephemeral into a lasting memory. His career tells the story of an architect of ambiance, an artist who understands that an event doesn’t begin with a gesture nor end with a toast: it begins with the first song and lingers long after the last.
Alex’s beginnings trace back to the opening of Victoria Café in 2007, followed by a five-year period that began in 2008 at the legendary Bataplán Disco in San Sebastián. In 2015, he took on the role of Music Director at GU, the prestigious night club of the Real Club Náutico (“Royal Yacht Club”). In the midst of the pandemic, Alex moved to Mallorca, joining Panela Productions in 2021 — Paco Colombás’s elite agency specializing in destination weddings and corporate events. Since that time, his performances have graced the most exclusive venues of the Balearic Islands and the Amalfi Coast.
With the end of travel restrictions in 2022, he relocated to Madrid, creating a name for himself in corporate, cultural, fashion, and film events — including the Movistar Plus+ premiere parties. Notable recent highlights include his performances at the La Casa de la Arquitectura (“The Architecture House”) Awards and at the exclusive collaborative event between Roche Bobois, filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, and his muse Rossy de Palma.
Since 2023, Alex has been a member of the GLH Singular Restaurants DJ staff, working at trendsetting Madrid venues like Pabblo and Harrison 1933.
Alex divides his time between Madrid, Mallorca, and San Sebastián. As he has taken a special liking to Biarritz, he also performs regularly at Carré Coast, one of France’s most iconic nightclubs.
Since 2010, he has been represented by Get In, the prestigious agency led by Iñigo Argomaniz, and his name has become synonymous with places and moments where music makes a real difference — from the reopening of Chillida Leku in 2019 to the Miramar Gauak Festival at Miramar Palace, as well as the San Sebastián International Film Festival, where he has served as official DJ since 2007. His sound gives the right beat to the red carpet, accompanies the arrival of the stars, and becomes the soundtrack of both official and private celebrations for firms like Chanel, Movistar Plus+, Netflix, Disney+, as well as the Maitia Gala in support of UNICEF.
Alex’s versatility extends into the world of luxury hospitality, with performances at Nobu San Sebastián during the Yuhi Hours, at the María Cristina Hotel’s Dry Bar by Javier de las Muelas, at Palacio Arriluce in Getxo for Basque Luxury’s 10th Anniversary, at W Barcelona by invitation of Vicious Magazine, and at Room Mate Hotels by Kike Sarasola, where he curated the brand’s signature music alongside Gorka Atorrasagasti and recorded exclusive sessions for its properties in New York, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Málaga.
Fashion has also played a defining role in his professional journey. Alex has accompanied Alvarno’s runway shows in Madrid, and he has composed original music for the Odette and Baro Lucas collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, with the latter awarded the L’Oréal Award for Best Collection in the recent SS26 edition. He has also set the tone for unforgettable evenings in both the fashion and gastronomy worlds at Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa.
Throughout his career, Alex has collaborated with artists such as Xabi San Martín (La Oreja de Van Gogh), Álex Ubago, Duane Harden, and Aysha, and he has produced official remixes for Nil Moliner, Azúcar Moreno, Sweet California, and Folamour. Today, whether in Bilbao, San Sebastián, Mallorca, Madrid, Biarritz, or Amalfi, Alex del Toro continues to craft elegant, emotionally resonant soundscapes — creating memorable atmospheres in unique locations.
