Basque language is very interesting, because nobody really knows where it comes from. So I guess Basque people are extraterrestrial: they are not from Earth.
I think aliens colonized this place 100.000 years ago, landing in their flying saucer. So Basque people are different from other people. They are proud of their culture and, at first, difficult to become friends with because they test you until they accept you, and it’s not easy. Once you pass the test, they are really warm and welcoming.
I respect the way they protect their country, like a holly place that must not be destroyed. The laws to protect the environment are very strict. The same happens with the language, the traditions, the dance, the music and the food. I haven´t visited the entire planet, but I have travelled a lot, and I don’t know any other place like this. Every time I have guests who come on holidays or for the weekend, they don’t want to leave.
Some people compare the Basque Country to California, because of the surf, the sun (sometimes) and the ocean. Some aspects are very rock & roll here: people like to party, to drink, and to go out, so it has some resemblance to California. But there is a huge difference: people in California are totally empty, they have no history, no culture (except for the cinema), and they are really hypocrites. Here instead, there is a long history and a very rich poetry and literature. The Basque Country is California with a soul.
