To step into the Anhelo boutique in San Sebastián is to immerse oneself in a universe of scent and beauty. Every visit becomes a unique olfactory experience, thanks to its carefully curated selection of niche perfumery, updated annually with new international firms. The latest additions include Rose et Marius, Carlotha Ray, Rancé, Lesquendieu, Nissaba, Parfum d’Empire, Jacques Fath, and Giardini di Toscana — eight houses united by excellence, creativity, and refinement as their hallmark.
Created by Magali Fleurquin-Bonnard, Rose et Marius is the only haute perfumery brand based in Provence and celebrated for the excellence of its Mediterranean aromas crafted from fine ingredients through meticulous artisanal processes. The brand combines tradition and design by extending its universe to body and home products, all made in Aix-en-Provence.
Behind Carlotha Ray is Mariela Schwarz Montiel, who combines luxury and ecological consciousness. Her perfumes, vegan and composed of 90% natural ingredients, stand out for their floral and woody notes, recycled glass bottles, and PEFC-certified beechwood caps.
Rancé, founded in 1795 in Grasse, was the perfumery of choice for Napoleon Bonaparte. Today, the seventh generation keeps the family heritage alive from Milan, with elegant and refreshing fragrances such as Eau de la Couronne, Rêve d’Été, Mathilde, and Le Vainqueur.
The historic Lesquendieu, created in 1903 in Paris by Joseph Lesquendieu and revived by his grandson Jérôme, balances classicism and modernity. Its essences, crafted from exceptional materials, are presented in 24-carat gold-plated bottles and boxes with gilded prints.
From Switzerland, Nissaba, founded by Sébastien Tissot, pays tribute to the origins of raw materials. Its seven fragrances represent territories such as Madagascar and Guatemala, blending ethics, sustainability, and sensory luxury.
The Corsican brand Parfum d’Empire, led by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, explores the evocative power of Mediterranean plants through vibrant perfumes and candles.
Jacques Fath, a great name in twentieth-century haute couture, is reborn with Fath’s Essentials, a sustainably crafted perfume collection including a reinterpretation of the iconic Green Water of 1946.
Giardini di Toscana, directed by Silvia Martinelli, combines tradition and creativity in ethical and sustainable fragrances. Inspired by her childhood in the family perfumery, she presents timeless scents such as Bianco Latte, a successful unisex vanilla and caramel fragrance.
But Anhelo is much more than perfumery: with 22 years of history, it is a San Sebastián brand of high-end bijou pieces and artisanal headpieces, renowned for its porcelain and wax items. The boutique’s windows also feature accessories from international houses: leather goods from the French brand Maradji, calfskin and oxhorn fans from Pubumésu of Indonesia, and umbrellas by the French brand Guy de Jean.
Slow cosmetics are another essential facet of Anhelo. In addition to its in-house beauty salon offering exclusive treatments, the boutique represents brands such as Oppidum, Labeau Organic, and Dulkamara Bamboo, promoting a deeper approach to skin care through plants, natural prebiotics, butters, and oils. The shop’s latest innovation is the introduction of a haircare line with products designed to nurture both hair and scalp, ensuring complete hydration and nourishment.
