The history of the Olazabal Jewelery and Watch Shop is inseparable from the story of San Sebastián itself. In 1945, Tomás Olazábal opened the La Central de Relojería watch shop on the corner of Garibai and the Boulevard, a store that quickly became a gathering place for enthusiasts of precision and horology. Thus was born a house destined to mark entire generations, steadfast in a style that blends tradition, excellence, and warmth.
Since then, four generations have guided this family business. After Tomás, leadership passed to José Luis and later to Álvaro Olazábal. Today, Álvaro, his wife Ainhoa, and their son Iñigo work together to preserve the essence of the brand while projecting it into the future. This continuity is a source of pride: a legacy passed down with passion, capable of evolving with the times without losing its soul.
Olazabal’s milestones reflect this ability to adapt. In the 1950s, the boutique became an official Rolex distributor, a decisive step that cemented its prestige in the world of haute horology. In 2003, the store underwent a complete renovation that modernized the space without sacrificing its distinctive character. More recently, a new update has given rise to a renewed environment, with a dedicated Rolex area and a redesigned jewelry section meeting the highest standards of luxury retail.
