In this setting, art holds a prominent place. Iñigo Manterola, a sculptor born in Orio, is the author of a major large-scale piece located outside the hotel and three medium-sized sculptures inside. His works, inspired by the sea and by movement, establish an intimate dialogue with the environment, becoming naturally integrated into the guest’s everyday experience. The hotel also offers guests the opportunity to visit Manterola’s atelier, just fifteen minutes away, and to discover his creative process firsthand.
The privileged location of Iturregi, in Getaria, reinforces this artistic vocation and places it at the heart of an exceptional cultural triangle. In the same town stands Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa, dedicated to the universal genius of haute couture. An hour’s drive away rises the imposing Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, while only half an hour away awaits Chillida Leku, the park/museum that houses the most extensive and representative body of work by Eduardo Chillida.
