Since 1911, Matarranz has been synonymous with craftsmanship, elegance, and tradition in the world of fine textiles. The Madrid-based firm, now led by Miguel Matarranz (the founder’s great-grandson), has skillfully combined heritage and modernity across generations in every one of its bed, table, bath, and home accessory collections.
In 2024, this family-run company took an important step in expanding its brand with the opening of a new boutique outside Madrid. The chosen destination was San Sebastián, the gastronomic capital of the Basque Country — selected in part because of the central role that the table and the art of hosting play in the city’s lifestyle.
Located on San Marcial Street, in the heart of the city, the new atelier was designed by acclaimed architect Pablo Paniagua, who also created the interior concept for the Matarranz flagship space in Madrid. This “home tailor” masterfully blends classical elegance with the aesthetics of European design from the middle of the twentieth century. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a sensory and immersive experience, inviting clients to explore textures, fabrics, and the very essence of textile luxury.
The space perfectly embodies the core values of the brand, closely aligned with those of Basque culture itself: exceptional craftsmanship, discreet sophistication, and lasting sustainability. It is, above all, an invitation to rediscover the home with the same care and dedication required to perfect a great recipe: time, devotion, and the will to endure.
