Gran Hotel Domine is a destination hotel in and of itself that is chosen by travelers from all around the world. Totally remodeled by the Foraster Studio of Bilbao, this hotel has acquired an elegant, timeless style. Located just opposite the Guggenheim Museum, in the Bilbao Art District, the hotel features a renowned collection of art and impeccable service.
One of the establishment’s new acquisitions is the impressive and hypnotic kinetic installation in the lobby. This piece, entitled A Million Times 120 and created by the Swedish studio Humans Since 1982, has 120 clocks in movement.
But that is not the only piece of art that makes its impact on guests at the Domine: weighing 90 tons, the grandiose Ciprés Fósil by Mariscal, made of 80,000 river stones stacked in a tower measuring 26 meters in height, has become a sculpture that attracts hundreds of onlookers annually. Other pieces are reserved exclusively for guests, like the original paintings by Mariscal that decorate the establishment’s ten impressive suites.
In addition to art, gastronomy is another of the main attractions at the Domine, which offers several culinary proposals: Le Café, which features urban cuisine, informal dining, and dishes for sharing; Beltz, which offers seasonal cuisine in an intimate, elegant atmosphere; Sixty-One Lobby Bar, a cosmopolitan bar to have a cocktail in; and the most spectacular terrace of Bilbao, where a breakfast with views of the Guggenheim can be enjoyed.
“Wellness by Domine” is a new addition to the hotel to take care of the body and mind and which features a Turkish bath, relaxation area, sauna, gymnasium, and facial and body treatments.
