Navarre has one of the most varied landscapes of all of Europe. Beginning with the monumental Roncesvalles complex, in addition to the lush forests at the Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park and the Bardenas Reales Desert, there are hundreds of villages, routes, and places of great beauty which are –for the immense majority– unknown. One of these hidden treasures is Gallipienzo, a municipality with just 99 inhabitants located on a 600-meter-high hill. Built in the tenth century as a defensive position against the Muslims, Gallipienzo features a rich medieval historical heritage, remarkable cuisine, and a unique natural environment. Among its attractions are the bird observatory that has views of the Aragón River Gorge and the Kaparreta Nature Reserve.

The building has solar panels able to heat 100% of the water used by guests, thus reducing the use of solid fuels by 60% per year, avoiding all kinds of emissions to the atmosphere for four months, and making this an eco-friendly establishment.
The bar/restaurant at Heredad Beragu is exclusively for clients. The best local dishes can be enjoyed on its gardened terrace, as well as a full homemade breakfast based on natural, seasons products.
Many visit Heredad Beragu to spend a weekend or a season seeking to get away from the city and disconnect – either by merely taking in the views of the landscape or by discovering the surroundings hiking (the Royal Cattle Track of the Salazar Valley and Historic Trail GR-1 pass by the hotel). And the fact of the matter is that there are very few places as special as this one for true immersion in the grandeur of nature.
